How do I get wireless internet on the
CarXPC in-vehicle computer?
There are at least two ways: 802.11x (usually 802.11g) wireless
devices OR your cell companies data capability. For 802.11x you can
either add a half size 802.11x PCI card or add a similar USB device.
For cellular data, we recommend using a
Verizon Wireless compatible phone and their
Verizon Wireless's NationalAccess
plans because of
network availability, speed, and price.

I already have an LCD in my vehicle; will
the DashTop work with it? Do you sell the DashTop without an LCD?
Almost all LCD’s in vehicles were developed for TV (or DVD)
capabilities (small low resolution LCD displays), so hooking your CarXPC
computer to these would be analogous to hooking your desktop to your TV
– it is possible – but the results are generally not very satisfactory.
CarXPC is delivered with a true VGA capable touch screen LCD
specifically tailored to the needs of the overall system. However, for
watching DVDs from your system, you can use your current LCD as a
quality screen for this purpose – and it can be hooked up to either the
RCA port or the S-Video port of the computer.

I have an in-dash LCD head unit already
from Kenwood, Clarion, Alpine, Pioneer, Eclipse etc. can the DashTop
work with it?
Our standard monitor does not provide the inputs for such an interface.
However, an optional monitor is available that has an auxiliary input
for video and audio. Please discuss with your installer or call if
interested.

specifically tailored to the needs of the overall system. However, for
watching DVDs from your system, you can use your current LCD as a
quality screen for this purpose – and it can be hooked up to either the

My car came with an LCD navigation screen
from the manufacturer; can I connect your PC to this?
Your factory/OEM LCD screen most likely does not have a PC or video
input, in order to attain this, a special adapter is required. These
adapters are only available for some vehicles and can be quite costly.
Please discuss with your installer.

How do I go about connecting the DashTop
to my car audio system? If my deck does not have an input how can I use
the system?
Audio from the CarXPC system can be easily connected to your existing
audio system. You can run the audio output from the computer to the
input of your head unit (CD Deck), equalizer or amplifier. If your
system has no audio input there is an FM modulator available for the
DashTop. An FM modulator will essentially take the audio signal
from the CarXPC and broadcast it on an FM band that can be received by
your current FM tuner.
